MEMBER FOCUS: Leigh Ann Fryar

Leigh Ann Fryar was an early believer in Common House Chattanooga. When the historic YMCA was still in the process of being transformed into the Southside’s iconic social club, Director of Membership Rob Praino approached the Chattanooga native about forming a membership committee. “I told him I would be very interested because I loved the concept of a House coming to Chattanooga,” Leigh Ann says.

Now that the doors have been opened for six months, Leigh Ann loves what the concept has become. She raves about the amazing food, cocktails, and service, but her favorite aspect of Common House is the people. “I love the diversity of the members here,” she says. “And that is what the goal has been — to get as many people from as many different backgrounds and as many different age groups.”

Leigh Ann stays pretty busy as a pharmaceutical sales rep, but she makes time to serve with the American Cancer Society in Chattanooga. “It just touches so many people's lives,” she says. “Having seen some of the people that have really benefited from the work that we've done just makes it a lot more personal.” This year, Leigh Ann had the honor of co-chairing the organization’s black-tie gala on November 19, aptly named Hope for the Holidays. Leigh Ann and her team were able to meet at Common House to plan the organization's largest fundraising event of the year.

The event was a huge success and the ACS was able to bring a lot of hope to people throughout the region. Now, Leigh Ann is looking forward to enjoying the rest of the holidays before starting to plan her next big event – her wedding. Next time you’re in the House, make sure to say “hi” to Leigh Ann in person.
