Located just steps from the historic Arts District, Common House is Richmond’s premium venue for one-of-a-kind celebrations, offering four floors of elevated modern design. 

From rehearsal dinners and wedding receptions to corporate events and farewell brunches, our in-house catering allows us to custom tailor our dining, bar, and seating options for any need. Work with our Executive Chef to create a custom, locally-sourced menu, and with our Sommelier to hand-pick a selection of craft cocktails and world-class wines. What’s more, we take care of all the additional details — service staff, event furniture, and even A/V needs, minimizing your cost and effort. Each space can be rented stand-alone or paired with another rental. Our Director of Events will work closely with you to choose the right space or combination of spaces for any occasion.

 
 

Union Hall
located on the first floor

Bathed in natural light, our event hall provides a storybook feel to your next occasion. Our 20-foot ceilings have historically preserved tin that add a rustic dimension to eclectic decor, including hand-crafted tables for seated dinners or cocktail-style receptions.

  • Union Hall United + Courtyard: 160 standing, 120 seated

  • Union Hall South: 100 standing, 60 seated

  • Union Hall North: 50 standing, 30 seated

Madison Wing
located on the second floor

This second floor beauty has stunning windows wrapping the entire length of the room, historic tin ceilings, wood floors and a built-in bar making it the perfect party venue for cocktail hours or indoor ceremonies. Complete with soft seating, the Madison Wing can also be reserved for semi-private weekday rentals like birthday parties, bridal showers and more.

Courtyard

The open-air courtyard is an intimate event space with a unique Richmond flair, showcasing brick walls, a weather-proof pergola, and eclectic lounge furniture. Enjoy a slice of urban paradise, perfect for any occasion.

About Common House

Common House is a contemporary social club where people of all backgrounds gather, co-work, and dine. Located in downtown Richmond, Common House Richmond offers six floors of elevated modern design, expertly crafted food and beverage, and a lively slate of ongoing programming. Though membership is not required to host a private event at Common House, members receive discounts on event space fees and have access to book exclusive rooms across Common House locations in Charlottesville, Richmond, and Chattanooga.
